Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has moved towards digitization of many things from Biometrics registration, National Register of Citizen and now Digital Iqama or Digital Muqeem ID.
Yes, you’re reading it right Jawazat in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia has launched the Digital Iqama (Digitam Muqeem ID) for Expatriates & Citizens which is available on the official website of Ministry of interior new electronic application “Absher Individuals” under the name of “Muqeem Digital ID” or Resident Digital ID.

This will help Expats living in Saudi Arabia to avoid fines for not carrying their plastic ID, residence permit (Iqama), License.
Digital Muqeem ID or Digital Iqama will help verifying the individual in the event where the individual is not carrying the plastic card
Digital ID can be used for all Saudi Government transactions once the expat or citizen has obtained the Digital ID through Absher individual application.
All Expats in KSA can download it on their mobile phones and use it without internet whenever required. This will enable the beneficiary to view the ID data electronically through the “Absher Afrad” (Absher Individuals) application through the variable QR Code
Digital Iqama or Digital Muqeem ID can be used for all bank transactions, government agencies.
How to download Digital Iqama / Digital Muqeem ID in your Smartphone.
- Log in to your Absher account
- Select My Services in Absher
- Then tap on “Download Digital Muqeem ID”
You Digital Iqama is now downloaded into your smartphone / device
This step towards digitization is an addition towards Vision 2030 of Saudi Arabia which help all expats and Citizens to use Digital Iqama (Residence Permit) or Digital Muqeem ID instead of the plastic card anywhere in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA)
