Inception of Web based and smartphone based Messengers such as Facebook, Whatsapp and many more messengers have took over the market now a days and are continuing to grow.
With a great Sorrow I wanted to say that Yahoo Messenger is now Shutdown by Yahoo.

After 20 years (1998-2018) of the iconic Yahoo Messenger is about to shutdown for good. I can just say Well played Yahoo and its the End of Yahoo Messenger
