Ministry of Labor & Social Development along with Public Prosecution wants to include a law for punishing anyone who does violence against house drivers, maidservants, and elderly people in the Protection Against Abuse law.
This law is inline with the Islamic Shariah Law which said equal treatment for workers and elderly people.
This will also help law guarantee the rights of people against any such violence to ensure parents and elderly people are protected by Law.
This will surely bring respect, recognition and protection against abuse domestic workers and elderly people in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and also punish abusers.
Majed Qaroob, a lawyer, appreciated the Public Prosecution’s move to tackle the negative phenomenon prevailing in society, saying this will help correct wrong notions with regard to the treatment of different members of society.
