Saudi Arabia has opened up Hajj registrations for Locals as well as foreginer residents, which means people from any country who are already present in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia can perform Hajj.

As per the earlier statistics 70% of the pilgrims who used to perform Hajj were foreginers itself and only 30% local people used to perform Hajj.

This time due to coronavirus pandemic, kingdom os Saudi Arabia has taken very keen steps for maintaining social distancing and keeping Makkah & Madina very safe for Pilgrims.

  • Only 1000 pilgrims of are allowed to perform Hajj who are in the kingdom will be allowed to perform Hajj this year
  • for Foreign residents; people who are aged between 20 yrs – 65 yrs are only allowed to perform Hajj this year
  • Pilgrims should not have any health ailments (diabetes, heart conditions)

Hajj Registration are open on the official website of Hajj (www.localhaj.haj.gov.sa)

Usually, an estimated 2.5 million people from over 140 countries take part in the annual religious gathering, while around 2 million people were expected to take part in the pilgrimage this year – one of the most significant events in the Muslim calendar.

Registration began on Monday and will continue until July 10. The ministry said an exceptional plan has been prepared for this year, and applying for Hajj via its website will be treated as an initial submission.
Final registration will be considered only after issuance of the final approval, and after ensuring that the applicant has met all the health and regulatory standards. The result of the application will be sent via text message.
