Saudi Arabia could limit the numbers of Pilgrims those who comes for annual pilgrimage for Hajj due to coronavirus outbreak in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia as the country has reached more than 100,000+ cases till date.

While most of the countries are awaiting Saudi Government nod for Hajj. There have been many questions arising in everyone’s minds like below:

  • Hajj will be performed in 2020 or not?
  • Will there be any restrictions for Hajj 2020?
  • Hajj with COVID-19 (Coronavirus) in Saudi?

We’ve been seeing day-by-day increase in no of cases of COVID-19.

Saudi Arabia asked Muslims in March to put haj plans on hold and suspended Umrah until further notice.

Last Year Hajj (2019) around 2.5 Million Pilgrims came to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj rituals. People Visit holy site Makkah & Madina for Hajj every year for a once in lifetime duty.

Kingdom earns almost around $12 Billion a year for Umrah Pilgrimage as per the data, but this year could be different.

As per sources, we got to know that authorities will now be considering limited no of Pilgrims this year with restrictions to Older Pilgrims and Child pilgrims.

Many health checks will be there for each and every pilgrims.

There are chances also that Saudi Arabia government may only allow only 20% of the regular quota of pilgrims.

All these are speculations as we still need to wait till the end of July to get the official information from Saudi Government.

The kingdom halted international passenger flights in March, and on Friday it reimposed a curfew in Jeddah, where haj flights land, after a spike in infections in the city.
