Saudi Arabia has decided to postponed the reopening of Flights and extend the closure of its borders across Saudi Arabia. Be it through Air, Land and Sea for all the residents living in the kingdom.
It has postponed the reopening of Air, Land and Sea borders and have extended the ban on travel for all of its citizens till 17th May, 2021.
Travel Ban Extended in Saudi Arabia till May 17
Earlier, all the borders were supposed to re-open on 31st March 2021 but now got delayed till the month of May.
Few days back we got the new that Saudi Airlines were fully prepared for flying International Flights and today we got the news of Travel restrictions getting extended.
In a statement carried by the (SPA) Saudi Press Agency on Friday, an official source at the from Ministry of interior said that the decision was taken based on the health ministry’s statement that the COVID-19 vaccine manufacturers were late in delivering contracted batches on schedule due to which there might be delay in getting all citizens vaccinated.
The source added the move to extend the date was made due to the importance of reaching high levels of community immunity in the kingdom Saudi Arabia before travel ban is lifted and the citizens are permitted to travel, in light of a possible second wave of the pandemic in many countries, in the interest of public health in the Kingdom and to maintain low infection rates in Saudi Arabia.
