The procedure of transfer of ownership in KSA (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) is not that complicated but anyways one should have the knowledge before doing any transaction either selling or buying the vehicles.

a. Once you decided to buy a vehicle go to the vehicle transfer office with the seller with required amount of cash,here they charge around SR550 and third party insurance of SR950.

b. If not go to Maroor office which is open throughout the week where the transfer is done within no time after verifying your Iqama, Driving licence and vehicle registration

Both the seller and the buyer gets confirmation messages respectively from the MOI.

c. Fee charged will be SR400 along with this third party Insurance will also be done costing around SR750.

d. In case of any fine is due transfer of ownership cannot be carried out till the fine is cleared.

Once all the above things are done, The Old owner of the vehicle can go home now. But before that the new owner collect the Iqamas, license, MVPI report and insurance back.

A New vehicle registration document is given on your name with a stamp confirming the ownership. Once you get this document, take it to the nearest Traffic Police E-Services building and give this document along with your Iqama. Once this is done a new Istamara/Istimara is given to you.
