A standby plan to keep cities and villages clean in case of strike by cleaning staff was drafted by The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs (MMRA) according to Makkah Arabic daily who also said that they even obtained a copy of the plan.

According to the plan, municipalities should use machinery and equipment in times of workers strike.

The help of Schools, colleges, sports clubs and scouts should be involved along with Saudi workers available in other administrations.

Cleaning teams should be formed by the supervisors of work zone coordinating with educational officials in their respective zones.

Citizens should be instructed through to minimize garbage quantities by rationalizing consumption.

Municipalities should have a sufficient stock of garbage bags and insecticides to be distributed to citizens and ensure that garbage is not scattered before its proper transportation to the dumping sites.

People employed in industrial areas and the Shopkeeper should be asked to keep the areas clean.
