First 5G Service in Saudi Arabia launched by STC

Saudi Telecom Company is one of a leading technology service provider in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia which has now launched 5th generation (5G) wireless network service in Saudi Arabia.

STC is the first operator in KSA to provide 5G services and their CEO has confirmed that STC has developed the infrastructure of wireless networks in Saudi and has extended their range providing the latest global technologies, and accelerated the deployment of 5G networks, which is considered a major digital transformation.

Difference between 5G Vs 4G Networks

STC CEO has confirmed that in the initial stages 5G services will be avaialble in specific areas (major cities) in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia and later will be available across the kingdom

Al-Khobar in the Eastern Province was the first city in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region to be benefited from 5G service following the inauguration of its pilot project in May 2018 in the presence of Prince Saud Bin Naif, emir of the Eastern Province.

5G Network in Saudi Arabia will help in tranforming Saudis objectives inline with Vision 2030 and National Tranformation Program 2020.

While 5G will be available to consumers , but its real use is for technologies like driverless cars and in machine-to-machine communication.
