Why these names are banned in Saudi Arabia?
The Civil Status Department had reported that some of the names were banned because they were not inline with “social traditions.” in the kingdom and the others were apparently banned because of religious connotations
Names such as Elaine, Alice and Linda are not allowed anymore. According to the Ministry, most of the banned names are considered foreign and do not fit Saudi culture.
