Kafala system in Saudi has been more stringent to Expats living in Saudi Arabia. Any expat who goes to Saudi Arabia was supposed to be on the Original Employer beofre tranfering his Iqama to other Kafeel/Employer/Sponsor.

Per the Saudi Ministry of Labor & socail Developmnt, now its not a mandate for any expatriates employee to stay with the Original Sponsor or Employer before transferring Iqama to another sponsor or Employer.

Expatriates can transfer their Iqama to another employer or Sponsor no matter how long they work for their original employer or Sponsor. not just th Iqama but also transfer of services can be done form one Employer to other Employer.

Though the Ministry also said the Change of Profession on Iqama is not available yet and will be coming soon.

The other below Rules remains the same for now and no changes have been seen

– Expat Engineers with more than 5 years of Experience must go through a professional Exam and personal interview with the Saudi Council to get a job in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia

– Dependent Expatriates with Engineering graduates cannot transfer to the compainies as the service has been stopped
