Haramain Train from Makkah to Madina from Sept 2018

Haramain High Speed Train project known as Western Railway or Makkah – Madina High Speed Train is 400+ kilometer long transport system connecting two holy cities in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Contruction was started in 2009 and the train is expected to operate from September 2018.

Haramain Train will run at a speed of 300 knph and will be one of the fastest train to run in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It will connect King Abdullah Economic City, King Abdulaziz INternational Airport (Jeddah), Makkah and Madina in its 450 kkm long runway. So now you can travel rom Makkah to Madina in within 2 hours of Jounrney in this fastest Train in KSA, which instead used to take 6s hour by road.

Haramain Train from Kakkah to Madina will start this year from September after the Hajj Season.

The railway will be able to carry 60 million passengers a year by the time it is fully operational at the beginning of 2019, Al-Amoudi said.

In addition, the aviation sector planned to develop a further 12 domestic airports, Al-Amoudi said. He described KAIA as one of the most important projects of the Civil Aviation Authority, considering it as a quality shift in the services of the airport, which is five times bigger than the existing one and with a capacity to accommodate more than 30 million travelers.
