Ministry of Interior Saudi Arabia has informed that there is no official statement from the Saudi government about lifting travel restrictions soon.
Ministry has said that it later announce a date when it will lift travel restrictions for residnts of Saudi Arabia from Travelling from Saudi to any other country or vice-versa.
Travel Restrictions Date not yet decided
The plan for lifting the travel restrictions was said as 1st Jan 2020 tentatively which was stated earlier in Sept. Please find the statement issued for your reference below
“In reference to the statement issued on Sept. 13, 2020, stipulating that the lifting of restrictions on citizens traveling to and from Saudi Arabia, and allowing the opening of ports for all means of transport after Jan. 1, 2021, the Ministry of the Interior would like to clarify that the date for lifting restrictions on two-way traveling and allowing the opening of ports will be announced later,” the source said in a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency.
In the wake of global outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic the decision of lifting the travel restrictions are still pending or may be delayed.
Ministry of Interior along with Ministry of Health has issued protocols and regulations to all the residents to be followed strictly during this pandemic situation.
Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) has resumed partial flights for international flights on 15th September 2020, Excluding certain categories of Saudis and expatriates from the temporary travel ban.
Saudi Arabian Airlines has been flying to 33 international destinations since November 2020
