All Mosques in Saudi to be Closed, except Two Holy Mosques

Saudi Arabia senior scholars have decided to close all mosques in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia to avoid social gethering in prayers due to the fear of Coronavirus (COVID-19).

There are around 171 cases till now in the kingdom and the ministry is taking stringent actions to make sure that they are spreading the news to everyone living in the kingdom to avoid public places and maintain social distance.

The Council has asked the citizens to abide by the guidelines issued by the authorities saying risks associated with the coronavirus, known officially as COVID-19, increase with mass gatherings.

Due to the outbreak of such increasing disease and its effect, it was labelled as Pandemic by WHO.

All the mosques (Masjids) in the kingdom have been closed to avoid congregational prayers & Friday prayers has also been suspended for now.

Only Makkah & Madina (The two holy mosques) will remains open, but the pilgrims are forbidden to touch the Kaaba while performing Umrah.

The Council called on all the faithful to strictly adhere to the preventive and precautionary measures taken by the competent authorities, and to fully cooperate with them.
