Ministry of Labor and Social Development of Saudi Arabia is ready to launch Labor Arbitration Center for protecting Labor Rights in Labor Market.

Justice Ministry is planning to establish a modern labor court as a part of National Transformation Program (NTP) 2020 and Vision 2030.

In many instances labor disputes happened due to gaps in labor rules and regulations and MOL has already worked on many of these gaps to have been filled by making amendments to the Labor Laws including Article 77 on arbitrary sacking of employees.

As per the sources, we got to know that there are 32 labor panels with 172 arbitrators currently handling labor cases in Saudi Arabia.

Cases have been increasing year-on-year due to government’s residency-status correction campaigns that have uncovered violations.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Development (MOL) have received more than 165 labor dispute cases every day in the year 2016, A total of 58,504, of which roughly 55 percent were filed by Expatriates. Approximately 32000+ cases were related to work-related injuries

Maximum percentage of cases have been observed from Makkah, Riyadh and Eastern Province.
